Job summary

Baystate Health in Springfield, MA, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to join our NICU team at Baystate Medical Center. The role supports Level III NICU care for neonates, with rotating nights and weekend coverage as part of a Magnet-recognized facility.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality family-centered care. The position requires MA RN licensure, AHA CPR, and at least 2 years of inpatient experience, with NICU or Mother/baby preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice nursing in Massachusetts (Board of Registration in Nursing).
• Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide care in a Level III NICU for neonates and their families.
• Collaborate with neonatology, respiratory therapists, and nursing leadership to ensure patient safety and clinical excellence.
• Contribute to patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Maintain thorough documentation and participate in unit safety and quality initiatives.

DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

The Davis Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Baystate Children’s Hospital is the region’s only Level III NICU.

We have a team of neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners, residents, pediatric subspecialists, respiratory therapists, and neonatal nutritionists here to care for our littlest patients, 24 hours a day.

SCHEDULE:

Full Time nights 7 PM- 7 AM

Rotating weekends and holidays

QUALIFICATIONS:

Successfully passed Board of Registration in Nursing Examination and is licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts

Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR certification required.

Minimum 2 year of inpatient RN experience required, 2 year of Mother/baby or NICU experience preferred.

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
