Job summary

University Hospitals Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, OH, invites experienced NICU nurses to join its Level IV NICU team. You will provide care for high‑risk newborns, administer medications, monitor patients, and collaborate with families to develop individualized plans of care.

The role offers day/night rotations, some call shifts, a $2.75/hr incentive pay, an $8,000 sign‑on bonus for experienced RNs with at least 1 year NICU experience, and free parking for both part‑time

Qualifications

  • BSN, RN license in Ohio or multi-state compact.
  • 1 year inpatient RN experience required; NICU/newborn experience preferred.
  • BLS is required; ACLS/PALS may be required per unit.
  • Knowledge of nursing process and clinical practice.
  • Ability to handle PHI and adhere to UH policies.

What's Your Schedule:

Full time: Day/Night rotation

  • Some call shifts will be required

** Straight Night shift or part time opportunities may be available for experienced NICU RNs only that have at least 1 year of recent NICU experience

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.
  • For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
  • Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Education
(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, RN Diploma, ADN, or MN required

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • 1 year of inpatient RN experience required. NICU or Newborn experience preferred.
  • New Grad RN's outside of UH Rainbow Babies and Children's and the UH MacDonald Women's Hospital, are not being considered at this time.
  • Knowledge of nursing process and practice. (Required proficiency)
  • Uses a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient needs and prescribed clinical therapies (ie. stethoscopes, thermometers, sphygmomanometers and electronic monitoring devices. (Required proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

  • Registered Nurse (RN), Ohio and/or Multi State Compact License (Required Upon Hire) and
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) (Required Upon Hire)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) May be required based on the clinical care standards of the unit. Refer to ACLS/PALS Unit Requirements document found on DWP Nursing Portal to determine requirements by unit.
