Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, patient-centered care in the Medical-Surgical Unit. This full-time position offers a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates and requires current RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS (preferred).

Responsibilities include assessments, medication administration, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, and thorough EMR documentation. Night shifts available with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• ACLS certificate current within 30 days of hire and maintain (preferred)
• Previous acute care hospital experience preferred
• Ventilator management experience preferred
• BSN preferred

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, compassionate, patient-centered nursing care.
• Assess and monitor patient conditions, report changes to the care team.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments per orders.
• Coordinate with physicians, APPs, therapists, and other team members.
• Assist with procedures, diagnostics, patient stabilization, and clinical interventions.
• Operate and monitor department-specific clinical equipment.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, meds, plans, and discharge.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR.
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers safe, high-quality, patient-centered care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Working collaboratively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team, the RN provides direct patient care, promotes positive clinical outcomes, and ensures compliance with organizational policies, regulatory standards, and evidence-based practice.

• Operate and monitor clinical equipment appropriate to the assigned department.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Promote patient safety, quality outcomes, infection prevention, and regulatory compliance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Current and valid state RN License.
2. Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
3. Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current preferred.
4. Previous Acute Care hospital experience preferred.
5. Ventilator Management experience preferred.
6. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Pay Transparency:Central Maine Medical Center offers competitive compensation and a reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $36.00 to $49.16 per hour.
