Texas Health Resources is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Neuro Tele department at Fort Worth. This Full Time night shift (7P-7A) includes weekend and holiday requirements, with self-scheduling and opportunities for education and career growth.

The unit cares for stroke, seizures, Parkinson's, MS and telemetry patients in a 30-bed Neuro Tele setting; NIHSS experience preferred. Applicants should hold a Nursing Diploma/ADN (BSN preferred) and Texas RN licensure, with BLS and

Qualifications

• Nursing Diploma or ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure in Texas or compact license on hire.
• BLS required prior to patient care; ACLS within 90 days.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire.
• One year RN experience or completion of RN residency.
• 2+ years Med/Surg/Neuro/Tele RN in acute care; charge/preceptor skills preferred.
• NIHSS within 6 months of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care using the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient and plans care accordingly.
• Intervenes and evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Maintains age-specific safety and infection control.
• Communicates info to patients/significant others and coordinates transfers.

Work hours: Full Time (7P-7A) Weekend and holiday requirements

Department highlights:

• Neuro Tele Department (30 bed) provides care to a wide variety of Neuro Tele patients with diagnosis such as Stroke, Seizures, Parkinson, MS, Medical overflow and Telemetry.

Here’s What You Need

• Nursing Diploma Or Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire
• Current BLS prior to providing independent patient care required
• ACLS within 90 days required
• CPI training within 90 days of hire required
• One (1) year experience as a registered nurse, or completion of an RN residency program required
• 2+ years of strong Med/surg, Neuro or Tele RN experience in acute care setting including charge/preceptor skills preferred
• NIHSS within 6 months of hire preferred

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
• Assesses the patient
• Plans the care of the patient
• Intervenes as appropriate
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.
