Job summary

Owensboro Health NICU is seeking a Weekend RN to provide direct nursing care in alignment with hospital policies, procedures and protocols. This role is part-time 0.6 FTE with weekend night hours 7pm to 7:30am, requiring flexibility and resilience in a high-acuity environment.

The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, implement care plans, monitor patient conditions, assist with discharge planning and patient/family education, and ensure compliance with the Nurse Practice Act.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in Kentucky required upon hire.
• BLS certification required within 45 days of employment.
• NRP certification required within 12 months.
• Associate-degree or diploma in nursing required at hire; BSN within 5 years.

Job Summary:

Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Job Responsibilities:

• Performs functions related to problem definition, data collection, interpretation and analysis,
• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
• Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
• Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with patient/family and members of the healthcare team.
• Assesses learning needs of patient and family and provides education based on age, culture, and willingness to learn.
• Performs job duties in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
