Indiana University Health is seeking experienced nurses to join our MedSurg team on the 6S unit at Methodist hospital in Indianapolis. The role emphasizes patient assessment and high-quality care in a fast-paced environment.

The RN will use critical thinking and prioritization to manage care for a diverse patient population, including urology, colorectal, gynecology, general surgery, ENT, trauma. ASN required; BSN preferred; Indiana/NLC license; BLS/ALS as needed.

Competenze

• ASN graduate required; BSN preferred.
• Active RN license in Indiana or NLC required.
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• BLS (AHA) certification required; additional ALS may be required by unit.
• Two years acute care experience may be considered in lieu of formal nursing program accreditation.

This position is referral eligible and currently qualifies for a NEW hourly location differential in addition to standard shift and holiday differentials.

About the Unit:

Indiana University Health Multi-Specialty MedSurg (6S) is a fast-paced, 30-bed unit that specializes in caring for a diverse patient population. Patients on this unit may present with conditions related to urology, colorectal, gynecology, general surgery, ENT, and oral and maxillofacial surgery, trauma. Due to the wide range of diagnoses treated on the unit, nurses gain valuable experience caring for a variety of medical and surgical patients.

• Caring for a variety of diagnose
• Urinary catheter placement
• Nasogastric tube placement

Qualifications

• Requires an Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
• Education: The Registered Nurse (RN) must have graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
• Exceptions: Candidates who have not graduated from a nationally accredited program may be considered if they possess more than two years of acute care experience. Such exceptions are subject to review and approval by the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO).
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
