Job summary

St. Mary Medical Center in Langhorne, PA, is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) for the MG2 Telemetry unit. This full-time role provides direct and indirect patient care using professional nursing skills in a 4:1-6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio.

Day shift (7am-7:30pm) on a 12-hour schedule; unit focuses on telemetry monitoring with collaborative, patient-centered care and strong infection control practices. Applicants should have a BSN, PA RN license and BLS.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited school of nursing.
• PA RN License is required.
• AHA BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assesses learning needs and readiness to learn, and integrates education into daily care.
• Documents admission assessments, plans, interventions and medication use.
• Utilizes the information system to communicate patient status and maintains orderly documentation.
• Communicates transfer of responsibility and relevant information at bedside and during rounds.
• Recognizes patient needs and supports abuse recognition and referral as needed.
• Incorporates pain management and supportive care into the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards and maintains a safe environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Purpose: The primary objective of this position is to provide quality of care. Responsible for the direct and/or indirect care of patients assigned utilizing professional nursing skills and knowledge.

Unit Overview: Tele monitored patients - unit operates a 4:1-6:1 nurse to patient ratio. Unit contains double rooms and approximately 48 beds.

As a Registered Nurse, you will

• Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and identify actual or potential barriers to learning and thereby incorporating the patient's education into daily activities based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
• Documents admission assessment / reassessment, plan, interventions and medication use and monitors its effects and outcomes according to policy.
• Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication and documents change in-patients condition to all appropriate individuals. Prioritizes work assignment based on changing situations.
• Communicates transfer of patient responsibility and pertinent information at the bedside and during Interprofessional Rounds
• Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care and knowledgeable in abuse recognition and referral
• Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
• Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care and by promotes and maintains a safe, clean and orderly environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
