Job Description Summary

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

Schedule

12‑hour shifts, day, 24–48 hours per every 6‑week schedule, including weekend and holiday as outlined. Scheduled weekly hours: 12.

Minimum Training and Education

Associate's Degree in Nursing (Bachelor's degree preferred).

Licensure, Certifications, Registrations

• Registered Nurse license issued by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (e.g., AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required for most nursing areas within the hospital.

Physical and Mental Requirements

Ability to perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs, working indoors and outdoors in temperature extremes, working from elevated areas, confined/cramped spaces, kneeling, bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, gross and fine motor movements, reaching overhead and in all directions, lifting and carrying 50 lbs. unassisted, exerting up to 50 lbs. of force, maintaining 20/40 vision, hearing acuity, peripheral vision, and performing stressful situations. Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, and a latex‑safe environment.
