Job summary

Trinity Health Of New England's Saint Mary’s Hospital is seeking a Part-time RN for the Medical Surgical/Ortho-Neuro-Ortho unit in Waterbury, CT. The role involves caring for adults with stroke, orthopedic and neuro-spine conditions, with support from a Virtual RN and Together Team Model.

The ideal candidate will have an RN license in CT, graduation from an accredited nursing school, and preferably a Bachelor’s degree with 1+ year medical-surgical or neuro/ortho experience.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing school.
• Valid RN License in Connecticut.
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred).
• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).

Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to adult patients with diverse medical and surgical needs.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
• Monitor patient progress, administer medications, and perform treatments in accordance with hospital protocols.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, rehabilitation, and recovery processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Description:

At Saint Mary’s Hospital, our Medical Surgical/Ortho-Neuro-Ortho Unit is a 27-bed unit specializing in the care of adult patients with stroke, orthopedic, and neuro-spine conditions. In addition to these specialties, nurses on this unit care for patients with a wide range of medical and surgical needs, delivering high-quality, compassionate care in a collaborative and supportive environment.

This unit also utilizes a Virtual Nurse, the Together Team Model, as part of our care team. The Virtual RN brings a minimum of 7 years of experience and provides essential support to bedside staff, including assistance with admissions, discharges, patient education, purposeful rounding, and enhancing team communication.

What You Will Do:

Minimum Qualifications:

• BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)

Pay Range: $37.25 - $61.75 per hour

Pay is based on RN experience. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on location.
