Valley Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Medical-Surgical unit on the night shift in Berkeley Springs, WV. The RN provides comprehensive nursing care, uses the nursing process, and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Applicants must have an RN license (WV/VA or compact), BLS certification, and 1,872 hours of RN experience (936 if BSN held). BSN preferred, with opportunity for professional development.

Qualifications

• Associates Nursing (RN Diploma, ASN or ADN) is required.
• Bachelors Nursing (BSN) is preferred.
• RN license required.
• BLS Certification (AHA Healthcare Provider) required.
• Applicable state RN license (WV/VA) or multi-state license (NLC) required.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care using the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation.
• Coordinate patient care, communicate with the care team and families, and document care accurately.
• Assume charge nurse responsibilities and participate in unit initiatives and education.

Also directs, coordinates and implements patient teaching, quality/safety initiatives, and activities of other health team personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing.A Registered Nurse II (RN II) is responsible for the care of the population they are assigned. A RN II is required to complete yearly mandatory competencies, any unit specific competencies that are identified by the Director/Designee as it relates to the patient population of their unit as well as completion of the Professional Practice Ladder requirements which include: Assuming responsibility as Charge Nurse, PI Activity and department initiatives, communicates and shares information to Director/Designee and co-workers from unit or hospital committee, a Valley Health paid Education/Seminar/Conference workshop or Nursing Article. Portfolio is current and submitted to Director/Designee annually by March 1st.
