Job description

Join to apply for the Registered Nurse, Medical-Surgical role at National Park Medical Center.

This position coordinates total nursing care for patients, participates in patient and family teaching, acts as a patient advocate, and works as part of a team with ancillary and non-nursing departments.

Reports to: Department Director

FLSA: Non-exempt

Education: Associate’s Degree Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor’s Degree Nursing (BSN) preferred

License: Current Registered Nurse license to practice in AR

Certifications: BLS within 30 days of hire

Essential Functions:

  • Assess patient’s condition and care needs
  • Set goals and prescribe nursing interventions
  • Develop and implement care plans
  • Evaluate patient outcomes
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff
  • Administer medications, treatments, and therapies
  • Communicate with patients and oversee care
  • Provide education to patients and families
  • Document observations and care accurately

Nonessential Functions:

  • Maintain equipment and supplies
  • Assist in orientation of new staff
  • Supervise activities of staff and operations
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
