Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Position Overview:

This role involves providing specialized nursing care on a 30-bed oncology unit for patients aged 18 and older.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform all unit-specific nursing duties, including assessments, developing and modifying care plans, and administering treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, and other medications.


• Ensure accurate documentation and maintain safety standards for patients and staff.


• Provide emotional support to patients and families, and communicate effectively with healthcare team members.


• Manage procedures like IV starts, NG tube insertions, dressing changes, Foley catheter insertions, and port access and maintenance.


• Participate in departmental initiatives, ongoing education, and professional development, including mentorship and certification support.

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensed RN with at least 1 year of experience.


• Current BLS certification within 30 days of employment.


• Proficiency in oncology nursing skills, including inpatient chemotherapy, radiation, and end-of-life care.


• Strong communication, documentation, and patient safety focus.
