The Short Stay/Medical Observation unit is located within the ED and is integrated with it, where you will be cross-trained in emergency care. We will have a 24-bed observation-only unit with a Hospitalist and NP designated to this unit, who will implement a rapid ADT: admission, discharge, and transfer of patients into and out of this unit. This is a great starting point if you have a desire to grow into the Emergency Department.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license
• Graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support certification through the AHA
• Other advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies
