Job summary

Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, GA, seeks an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for the 4 South MedSurg Unit to provide direct patient care using the nursing process. You will collaborate with physicians and the care team to ensure safe, high-quality care.

You will assess patients on admission and through shifts, administer medications, document care, educate patients and families about treatments, and respond promptly to requests while maintaining compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher from an accredited nursing program.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
• Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
• Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patient's medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher

Georgia RN license or compact license

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
