Job summary

Texas Health Fort Worth is seeking an RN for the Med Surg General Surgical Dept. This role requires an Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma, current RN licensure, BCLS, CPI training, and 1 year RN experience or completion of RN Residency. BSN is preferred.

2+ years med-surg experience in an acute care setting is preferred. The unit offers self-scheduling, strong leadership, a Magnet-certified facility, and opportunities for education and career growth.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing required.
• BSN preferred.
• Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing upon hire required.
• BCLS – prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly required.
• CPI – Crisis Prevention Intervention Training – within 90 days of hire.
• 1-year experience as a registered nurse or the completion of an RN Residency program.
• 2+ years med surg experience as an RN in acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process.
• Assesses the patient.
• Plans the care of the patient.
• Intervenes as appropriate.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions.
• Incorporates age specific safety/infection control measures into patient care.
• Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others need for information.
• Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out of hospital transfers.

Work hours: Full Time 7p-7a - Rotating Weekends/Holidays
