Job summary

Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital in Darby, PA is seeking a Registered Nurse to join an interdisciplinary team delivering evidence-based, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment. The RN will perform assessments, plan, implement, and evaluate care, document findings, and communicate with patients and families to support positive outcomes.

Requirements: Associate Degree in Nursing; PA or Compact RN license; BLS; ACLS as applicable; BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN highly preferred.
• Current RN licensure in PA or a compact state.
• BLS Certification; ACLS required or orientation if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, with assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care.
• Assist emergent patients and document accordingly on ER nursing tool.
• Identify patient needs based on objective data and follow through with documentation.
• Implement appropriate nursing actions for identified patients.
• Make decisions reflecting knowledge and sound judgment.
• Discuss with patient/family about planned care and outcomes; document accordingly.
• Utilize multidisciplinary approach to facilitate care delivery.

Position Purpose

The RN works in a collaborative environment at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital to deliver excellent patient care as part of an interdisciplinary team providing evidence-based medicine and individualized patient care. A Registered Nurse is expected to facilitate all aspects of the patient visit experience. As a Registered Nurse you will:

• Adheres to hospital nursing practice standards, demonstrates appropriate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
• Assist the emergent patient and documents accordingly on Emergency Room nursing tool.
• Identifies patient needs based on objective data and follows through with appropriate documentation.
• Implements appropriate Nursing actions to each patient that needs to be identified.
• Makes decisions that reflect both knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discusses with and includes patient an/or family significant other about planned patient care and expected outcomes and documents same.
• Identifies and appropriately utilizes multidisciplinary approach to facilitate delivery of patient care.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; BSN highly preferred
• Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Pennsylvania or Compact State License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS required or obtained by completion of orientation if Applicable to Area of Practice
