Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s St. David’s Round Rock Medical Center seeks a Medical-Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse. You will assess patients, develop and adjust care plans, and collaborate with the care team to ensure safe treatment delivery.

Responsibilities include medication administration, pre/post-operative care, patient education, and discharge planning. Requires RN license; ACLS/BLS and NIH Stroke Scale within specified timelines are needed. BSN preferred.

Qualifications

• :2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as an RN
• ACLS within 60 months of employment start date
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse license
• Associate Degree or Bachelor’s degree in nursing

Responsibilities

• Formulate and revise the plan of care based on patient response
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs
• Administer medications and perform treatments per policy
• Delegate tasks to non-licensed staff per standards of practice
• Provide pre- and post-operative nursing care
• Provide patient and family education on care and treatments
• Facilitate discharge planning with the care team

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Medical Surgical Float Pool Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for performing patient assessments, developing a plan of care, and implementing and evaluating care. As a member of the interdisciplinary care team, you will work collaboratively with the other members to ensure safe and accurate delivery of care.

• You will formulate a plan of care, revise the plan based on the patient’s response to treatment and regularly evaluate plan for effectiveness

• You will consult and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop, evaluate and revise the plan of care to meet the patient’s needs and goals

• You will administer medications and complete treatments according to hospital policy

• You will delegate work appropriately to non-licensed staff in accordance with standards of practice

• You will provide pre- and post-operative patient care

• You will provide education materials to patients and families on care and treatments

• You will facilitate discharge plans in collaboration with the care team

Experience

• 2 years of recent clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Education

• Associate Degree, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred)

License and Certifications:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Registered Nurse
• Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree
