Job summary

Novant Health's Career Compass program invites RNs new to Novant Health to rotate through four Med/Surg units at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC before selecting a permanent unit.

You’ll gain exposure to different patient populations, clinical environments and interdisciplinary teams, with support for professional development and certifications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 4 Year / Bachelors Degree preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If RN license inactive for 5+ years etc., refresher to reinstate is required.

• Gain experience across four Med/Surg teams and diverse patient populations.
• Experience different clinical specialties, workflows and team environments.
• Find the permanent Med/Surg team that best aligns with your strengths, interests and career goals.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians and interdisciplinary care teams

Location: New Hanover Regional Medical Center, Wilmington, NC

Schedule: Full-time, 0.9 FTE, 72 hours per two weeks, 12-hour day or night shift

What We're Looking For

• Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED, required.
  • 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience:
  • One-year of RN Work experience, required.
  • One-year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification:
  • Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
