Job summary

San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in California seeks an RN for the Med-Surg Telemetry unit. The role coordinates and delivers direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients, works with physicians and the care team, and supports patient and family teaching.

The successful candidate will hold a CA RN license, BLS and NIHSS certification on hire, and be proficient with Word and electronic health record systems. One year of acute care experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current active California RN license and graduation from a school of nursing with diploma, associate degree, or advanced nursing degree.
• Current American Heart Association BLS provider card & NIHSS Stroke Scale Certification required upon hire.
• Must be computer-literate (Word) and familiar with an electronic health record system.
• Minimum of 1 year recent acute care hospital experience within last 18 months preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and provide direct nursing care for adult and geriatric patients on the Med-Surg Telemetry Unit.
• Participate in patient and family teaching and collaborate with physicians and care teams to maintain standards of nursing practice.
• Assess adult and geriatric patients, recognize signs of abuse or safety issues, and apply appropriate treatments.

JOB SUMMARY: RN-MED/SURG/TELEMETRY:Coordinates and provides direct nursing care for patients, participates in patient and their representatives teaching and provides leadership by working cooperatively with physicians, ancillary services, and other members of the patient care team personnel in maintaining standards for professional nursing practice.

The primary patients cared for on the Med-Surg Telemetry Unit are adults and geriatric patients. The Staff Nurse must be competent in the physiological and psychological assessment of adult and geriatric patients. He/she must be knowledgeable in recognizing signs and symptoms of abuse or neglect, and of safety issues, both environmental and medical. He/she must be knowledgeable of appropriate treatments and pharmaceuticals for adult and geriatric patients.

Requirements
