Job summary

Cascades Healthcare Nebraska is seeking a Full Time Nurse for a 3 month contract in our skilled nursing and rehabilitation community. The role includes direct patient care, medications administration, and documentation.

Eligible candidates must hold an active RN license in Nebraska and be able to read and follow medical instructions. We offer a $5,000 sign-on bonus, housing allowance, and a supportive team committed to professional growth.

Qualifications

• Physical ability to perform duties including lifting and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent performing individual treatments on the medication/treatment record.
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs per facility policies.
• Notify physician of adverse reactions and changes in treatment plans.
• Keep medication cart, refrigerator, and rooms organized and secure.
• Assist in orientation and training of new nursing personnel.
• Practice infection control and safety policies.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a trereatment plan, and resint response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/dispoing
• Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for:

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift/push/pull 50lbs
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred
