Job summary

Cascades Healthcare Nebraska is seeking a Full Time Nurse for a 3-month contract. Responsibilities include providing patient care, administering medications, and documenting treatments in a supportive geriatric setting.

The role offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus, a $1,000 housing allowance, liability insurance, flexible scheduling, and on-the-job mentoring to support team growth and excellent resident care. Strong teamwork and infection-control adherence are valued.

Qualifications

• Current active RN license in the state of employment.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret English-language medical information.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
• Experience in long-term geriatric nursing care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines.
• Record time spent on treatments and ensure proper documentation.
• Maintain proper storage and security of drugs per facility policy.
• Notify physician of adverse reactions and non-compliance promptly.
• Keep medication cart and storage areas organized and compliant.
• Assist in orientation and training of new nursing staff.
• Enforce infection control and safety policies across the unit.

What you'll do:

• Prepare, administer, and document medications, tests, treatments, and IV lines
• Record time spent performing individual treatments, in accordance with ancillary services policy, on the medication/treatment record
• Ensure proper storage and security of drugs and biologicals in accordance with facility policies and procedures
• Notify the physician of refusal of medication/treatments, non-compliance with a trereatment plan, and resint response to medication regime with prompt notification to the physician of any adverse reactions
• Keeps medication cart, refrigerator, and room neat, clean, and medication stored properly/dispoing
• Assist in the orientation and training of new nursing personnel, as required
• Practice, implement, and supervise Infection Control, Universal Precaution, and safety policies and procedures

What we're looking for:

• Current active license as a Registered Nurse in the state of employment
• Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information in the English language
• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients
• Ability to stand for long periods of time as well as lift/push/pull 50lbs
• Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met
• Experience in long term geriatric nursing care preferred
