Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Registered Nurse for a 20-hour-per-week PM shift at our Harvard, IL location. The role provides patient assessment, medication administration, education, and care planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate has an ADN (BSN preferred), at least 2 years of RN experience with certification, CPR/BLS within 90 days, and the ability to participate in performance improvement activities and mentoring new partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years RN experience with a certification.
• CPR/BLS certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

OVERVIEWProvides comprehensive nursing care through patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, education, and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.SCHEDULE: 20-hours per weekShift: PM shift, e/o weekend, Holiday rotationESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUtilizes the nursing process and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members in caring for patients.Administers prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved nursing techniques, policies and procedures, standards of care, and State laws/practice act.Performs assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation of care.Documents according to standards of care.Develops, initiates and executes a patient plan of care according to the individualized needs of the patient, as prescribed by Physician and/or clinic policy including patient and family instruction.Participates in department or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governance.Utilizes clinical expertise & guidance to other units/departments in support of the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.Utilizes critical thinking regarding patient safety and patient experience and appropriately escalates to the appropriate chain of command.Participates in the professional nursing continuum process, unit practice activities and decisions and peer review process.Offers ideas and/or solutions to practice issues.Uses innovative methods and intuitive skills to develop and implement plans of care.Provides innovative ways to educate patient/families.Initiates interdisciplinary collaboration to meet the patient/family educational needs.Actively participates in mentoring and precepting new partners to the organization.Positively influences the professional and organizational environments and shared governance.Engages in personal development and supports system-entity opportunities for continuous learning and growth including developing or revising evidence-based practice guidelines.Actively participates in a minimum of 1 departmental or unit performance improvement activities, may include shared governanceIL: 20 Continuing education hours per year (10 of these are required for IL licensure) or WI: 20 Education HoursEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCEGraduate of an accredited nursing program.ADN required upon hire, BSN preferred.Minimum 2 years RN experience with a certification.CERTIFICATION/LICENSURELicensed as an RN in state of practiceApproved CPR/BLS certification required within 90 daysOther certification(s) per unit requirements. For example: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, and NRPProfessional Nursing Certification in your specialty or Advanced Degree (ex.
