Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center.

Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA; Shift: Weekend Night; Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.; Sign-on bonus up to $20,000 and relocation assistance available to qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced ED.

Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department | Level I Trauma Center

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center. Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital - Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Weekend Night shift

Available Hours:

7:00 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every weekend

Holiday Rotation: Required

Nurses in this department gain exposure to complex emergency, trauma, cardiac, stroke, critical care, and specialty cases while building advanced clinical skills in a collaborative environment.

Sentara Norfolk General Emergency Department has been recognized with the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award, honoring exceptional and innovative leadership, practice, education, advocacy, and research.

Education Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required

• BSN or MSN preferred

• Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered

Certification/Licensure Requirements

• Registered Nurse license required

• Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered

• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire

• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

• Prior RN experience preferred

• Emergency Department experience preferred

• Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply
