Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department, a Level I Trauma Center with 53 beds. You will join a fast-paced team delivering high-quality, patient-centered care across trauma, cardiac, stroke and critical care cases.

The role offers second shift hours (1:00 p.m.–1:00 a.m.), 36 hours/week, weekends every other, and a sign-on bonus up to $15,000 with relocation assistance.

Qualifications

Overview: Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department | Level I Trauma Center Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring full-time Registered Nurses for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center. Location: Sentara Norfolk General Hospital – Norfolk, VA

Position Status: Full-time, 36 hours per week

Shift: Second shift

Available Hours: 1:00 p.m. – 1:00 a.m.

Weekends: Every other weekend

Holiday Rotation: Required

Education Requirements

Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required BSN or MSN preferred Students completing an accredited nursing program may be considered

Certification / Licensure Requirements

Registered Nurse license required Students in the process of obtaining a Registered Nurse license may be considered Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred

Experience Requirements

Prior RN experience preferred Emergency Department experience preferred Strong candidates with related acute care, critical care, intermediate care, trauma, cardiac, stroke, or med/surg experience are encouraged to apply

Compensation

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $41.93 - $61.01 hourly. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
