Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is recruiting a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Emergency Department, a Level I Trauma Center in Norfolk, VA. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday 3p-11p, with a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified candidates.

The department provides exposure to trauma, cardiac, stroke and critical care cases within a Magnet-designated, 525-bed teaching hospital known for advanced patient care and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Registered Nursing required.
• BSN or MSN preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN, PALS, and ACLS preferred.
• Prior ED nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced ED environment.
• Collaborate with physicians, trauma teams, and interdisciplinary staff to deliver timely care.
• Monitor and reassess patients, administer meds, and document care.
• Support trauma patients through stabilization and escalation as needed.
