Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, Virginia is seeking a Level II Competent Registered Nurse who is clinically able to care for patients and collaborate with the healthcare team to improve care quality. You will provide total, continuous, patient-centered nursing care using the nursing process and work with interdisciplinary staff to achieve optimal outcomes.

BSN preferred; Virginia RN license required; BLS at hire with ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, ENPC/TNCC within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and licensed RN.
• Minimum of one-year nursing experience, preferred.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire; ACLS/PALS within specified timelines.
• BSN preferred and required licensure as noted.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with licensed/unlicensed staff.
• Coordinate patient/family and health-team involvement; include discharge planning.
• Communicate plan of care with the health team and patients.
• Assist leadership to set standards of care and improve services.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality initiatives.
• Orient new staff, clinical onboarding, and training as needed.
• Act as a point of contact for policies and procedures.
• Support daily operations to ensure safe patient/staff environment.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager on unit needs.
• Participate in committees influencing nursing/hospital policy.
