Job summary

Valley Baptist Medical Center Harlingen seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide direct clinical care across shifts, coordinating patient care and supervising staff. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and compassionate service.

You will administer medications, follow hospital policies, and participate in emergency response, infection control, and ongoing staff development. A strong foundation in acute care and licensed practice is required for this role.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred.
• Recent acute care experience preferred.
• Currently licensed to practice nursing as required by state law; AHA BLS certification; ACLS and/or PALS/NRP as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, safe nursing care to all patients.
• Coordinate patient care using the nursing process.
• Direct care according to established standards of safety, risk management, QA, and Infection Control; discharge planning.
• Coordinate and plan patient care within prescribed medical regime.
• Administer medications safely and in a timely manner per hospital policy.
• Fulfill HICS responsibilities during emergencies or disasters.
• Know and follow hospital emergency codes and related policies.
