Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant RN to support breastfeeding mothers and babies. The role involves patient education, care coordination, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements include RN license, BLS, and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC). Prior maternity or newborn experience is preferred. Spanish language skills are a plus. Benefits start day one.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to triage care based on patient needs.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Experience teaching adults and adolescents is preferred.
• Ability to use interpreter services appropriately.

• Maternity nursing and Newborn nursing knowledge [Preferred]
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing [Required]
• Ability to use Interpreter service appropriately [Required]
• Additional languages preferred, especially Spanish [Preferred]

Education

• Associate's of Nursing [Required]
• Bachelor's of Nursing [Preferred]

• 1+ acute care hospital [Preferred]
• 2+ maternity or newborn experience [Preferred]
