Job summary

The Registered Nurse – Night Shift at Endeavor Health in Evanston, IL delivers safe, compassionate nursing care across patient populations on a 36-hour work week. The role requires planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care, collaborating with the clinical team, and performing assessments, teaching, and documentation.

Qualifications

  • Current IL nursing license required.
  • NLN accredited nursing program graduate required; BSN preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification required from American Heart Association.
  • Minimum 2 years Labor and Delivery or acute care nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements plans of care to achieve outcomes.
  • Assess patients and collect health data.
  • Communicate care plans and patient data to the care team.
  • Educate patients and families on disease management and self-care.
  • Keep HIPAA and safety standards compliance.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities.

Hourly Pay Range:$37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.Sign on Bonus: $25,000: To be eligible for the sign on bonus must have 18 months Labor and Delivery experience. Position: Registered Nurse – Night ShiftLocation: Evanston Hospital, Evanston ILFull Time/Part Time: Full Time 36 hours per weekHours: 1900-0730, with weekend rotationCall: one shift per six week scheduleRequired Travel: n/aA Brief Overview:The Registered Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Registered Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.What you will do:Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological supportProvide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based careIf skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients.
