Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Registered Nurse for the night shift at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. The role requires thorough assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the clinical team to ensure safe, high‑quality patient outcomes.

Responsibilities include creating and updating plans of care, educating patients and families, and supporting ongoing professional development. Night shift 7:00 PM–7:30 AM with weekend rotation, full‑time status available.

Qualifications

  • Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required.
  • BSN strongly preferred.
  • BLS/CPR certification required by the American Heart Association.
  • 2 years Labor and Delivery or acute care nursing experience strongly preferred.
  • Labor and Delivery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develops a plan of care to achieve expected outcomes and revises it as needed.
  • Performs patient assessment and collects health data from patient, family and other providers.
  • Communicates plan of care to patient and family and coordinates with the interdisciplinary team.
  • Individualizes teaching to patient’s needs and cultural background; provides disease management guidance.
  • Contributes to professional development of peers and supports education.
  • Provides compassionate, psychological support to patients and families.
  • Assists in clinical procedures such as injections, venipuncture, IV management; supports perioperative care.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research.

Hourly Pay Range: $37.25 - $57.74 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Sign on Bonus: $25,000: To be eligible for the sign on bonus must have 18 months Labor and Delivery experience.

Position: Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Location & Shift Details
  • - Location: Evanston Hospital, Evanston IL
  • - Full Time/Part Time: Full Time 36 hours per week
  • - Hours: 1900-0730, with weekend rotation
  • - Call: one shift per six week schedule
  • - Required Travel: n/a
A Brief Overview

The Registered Nurse will deliver safe and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care. The Registered Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

What you will do
  • - Develops a plan of care that identifies interventions to achieve expected outcomes. Evaluates patient’s progress toward attainment of outcomes, systematically revises diagnosis, interventions and expected outcomes as needed.
  • - Provides patient assessment and collection of health data involving patient, family and other health care providers. .
  • - Communicates plan of care to patient and family regularly respecting the patient’s wishes through acknowledgment of patient/family perceptions of health and illness and mutual goal setting for optimal outcomes. Communicates patient data to physician and interdisciplinary team as indicated to achieve patient care needs. Documents patient health data, interventions and communications.
  • - Individualizes patient and family teaching based on a thorough assessment to meet their specific learning needs. Assesses patient’s cultural background, learning style, learning barriers, and modifies teaching plan accordingly. Provides teaching on disease management strategies, emergency care and drug information when appropriate. Identifies community resources to support patient self-management of disease.
  • - Interacts with and contributes to professional development of peers, students and other health care providers as colleagues. Shares knowledge, provides feedback and contributes to an environment supportive of clinical education. Assigns or delegates tasks as needed.
  • - Nurture a compassionate environment by providing psychological support
  • - Provide assistance to technical staff with injection of contrast, venipuncture, and administration of drugs, 02 therapy, and IV management.
  • - Participates in performance improvement activities and nursing research. Keeps abreast of research and practice trends in wound/ostomy/skin care through participation in professional networking, ongoing education, and self-directed learning activities. Supports staff in using research and providing evidence-based care
  • - If skilled, conducts daily rounds of wound/ostomy/skin care patients. Monitors effectiveness of wound/ostomy treatment plans and other aspects of wound/ostomy/skin care
  • - Complies with HIPAA regulations.
  • - Assist in the transporting of acutely ill patients as needed.
What you will need
  • - License: Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL required
  • - Education: Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing required; BSN strongly preferred
  • - Certification: BLS/CPR Certification for the Healthcare Provider required from the American Heart Association
  • - Experience: 2 years Labor and Delivery or acute care nursing experience strongly preferred
  • - Unique or Preferred Skills: Labor and Delivery Experience preferred
