Department/Unit Summary

The Labor and Delivery Nurse cares for pregnant individuals before, during, and after childbirth. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, fetal heart rate assessment, medication administration, pain management (including epidurals), assisting with inductions and emergencies, and supporting patients and families emotionally and physically. Collaboration with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams is essential.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants must hold a current state RN license and an associate's degree from an accredited nursing school. Additional requirements:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
• ACLS and PALS certifications within six months of hire
• One year of experience preferred
• ASLS certification preferred
