Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Care for obstetrical patients and manage high-risk cases.
• 12-hour night shifts with rotating weekend requirements.
• Circulate during birth procedures and provide newborn care.

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in labor and delivery. While 3 years is preferred, we welcome first-time travelers with experience in large, high-volume settings.

• Shift: 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 - 07:15. Choose between 36 or 48-hour work weeks. Note: Overtime is applicable only after 48 hours have been billed.

Patient Diagnoses

Our unit cares for obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for all intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care. We also manage high-risk patients under 16 weeks in our specialized maternity unit. The Birthing Care Unit includes an obstetrical triage unit for patient screening, routine outpatient procedures, scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births, and rescue cervical cerclage.

Special Procedures and Unit Details

This is a fast-paced unit with higher acuity than typically expected. While 48-hour contracts are available, they may not be realistic due to the unit's busy nature. We strongly prefer RNs with experience circulating in the OR.
