Job summary

Mercy Hospital Southeast in Cape Girardeau, MO, is seeking a Registered Nurse for Labor & Delivery. This part-time role provides one 12-hour shift weekly in a dynamic labor and delivery unit.

Responsibilities include applying the nursing process to patient care, ensuring confidentiality, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams while upholding Mercy Service Standards and mission.

Qualifications

• Graduated from a school of nursing (A.D., Diploma or BSN).
• Must hold and maintain a current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Certifications may be required based on position/unit and must be obtained within required timeframe.

Department: Labor & Delivery

Status: Part-Time, one 12-hour shift a week

Shift: Varies/Rotating

Qualifications:

Education: Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certification(s): One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe:

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
• PEARS (Pediatric Assessment Recognition and Stabilization)
• S.T.A.B.L.E. (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, And Emotional Support) Six Assessment & Care Modules
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.
• LPN-IV Certification must be previously completed or successful completion of course within 3 months of hire.
• Other unit-specific certifications as required.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
