Rhode Island Hospital is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct patient care on the Intermediate Surgical Step Down Unit, covering vascular, thoracic, complex abdominal surgeries and renal transplant patients. Night shifts with 2-3 weekends per month and 1900-0730 hours.
You will supervise ancillary staff, participate in discharge planning and uphold safety protocols. Applicants must be a Rhode Island-licensed RN with a nursing degree; BSN preferred.
Under the direct supervision of the Clinical Manager (or designee) implements, supervises and evaluates the nursing care of each patient using a nursing process and in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies and procedures. From admission to discharge, plans with consideration of the aging process throughout the life span, including all developmental stages as well as cultural patterns. Intermediate Surgical Step Down Unit caring for a variety of surgical diagnosis including vascular, thoracic, complex abdominal surgeries and renal transplant patients.
Licensure as Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island by the Rhode Island Board of Nursing or licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with the Nurse Licensure Compact agreement of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred. Must have current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Rhode Island. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to patients throughout the life span, with consideration of aging processes, human development stages and cultural patterns in each step of the care process.
