Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking an on-site Registered Nurse to provide direct patient care in a clinic setting. The role includes assisting physicians during examinations, preparing equipment, and ensuring efficient clinic flow from 8am to 5pm, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities include triaging calls, coordinating referrals and tests, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the health care team to implement treatment plans.

Provides direct nursing care to patients in a healthcare facility. Responsible for preparing equipment and aiding physician during treatment and examination of patients.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrates advanced skills in the delivery of physical examinations of patients, performing complex medical testing and providing physician interpretations of results, consulting with physicians and implementing treatment plan; administers medications and injections as needed.
  • Ensures the clinic flow runs smoothly; works closely with assigned scheduler to ensure referrals, follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests are scheduled accordingly.
  • Triages patient calls and works closely with call center team members.
