Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Pampa, TX seeks an ICU Registered Nurse (ICU RN) for per diem/PRN shifts. The role requires critical care expertise, strong assessment skills, and the ability to respond quickly in life-threatening situations.

The ICU RN will monitor patients, administer treatments, and collaborate with the care team while maintaining infection control and safety standards. Prior CCU exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Current and valid state RN License.
  • Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • Completion of Critical Care Course preferred.
  • Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
  • Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
  • Minimum of one year as a staff RN in acute care hospital, critical care preferred.
  • Critical Care RN (CCRN) Certification preferred. 8. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care to critically ill patients by performing detailed assessments, developing care plans, and implementing complex nursing interventions
  • Use advanced equipment like cardiac monitors, pulse oximeters, blood pressure monitors, ventilators, infusion pumps, and capnography devices to continuously track vital signs and physiological parameters
  • Safely administer medications, intravenous fluids, and blood products with precise dosing and timing, closely monitoring patient responses to ensure effectiveness and prevent adverse reactions
  • Manage life-support devices such as ventilators, dialysis machines, and cardiac monitors
  • Provide emotional support and education to patients' families, acting as a liaison to ensure they understand the care being provided
  • Document all aspects of patient care to ensure continuity and compliance while rigorously maintaining infection control and safety protocols to protect vulnerable patients

Location: Pampa Regional Medical Center, Pampa TX

We are seeking an ICU Registered Nurse, also referred to as an ICU RN, Intensive Care Nurse or Intensive Care Unit RN. The Intensive Care RN (ICU RN) will be responsible for providing intensive care to patients with life-threatening conditions. The ICU RN will have advanced skills in critical care settings, make quick decision s , and will be compassionate to all patient s . An ICU RN monitors vital signs, blood oxygen levels, administer IV Fluids, and communicates effectively to the medical team to modify care plans accordingly. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed .
