Job summary

Unitek Learning is seeking a full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team in Concord, CA. The role includes teaching both lectures and clinical rotations, visiting clinical sites, and mentoring students across settings.

Required CA licensure as RN or LVN, in-depth nursing knowledge, and the ability to work independently. ATI certification must be obtained within 60 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with CA license.
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing with required degree.
• Meet faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing.
• 3 years nursing experience with BSN or 6 years with ADN.
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support certification.
• Must obtain ATI certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek).

Responsibilities

• Visit clinical sites to deliver nursing instruction on-site.
• Improve quality of instruction using innovative teaching methods.
• Incorporate online activities to enhance course content.
• Review and revise syllabus for assigned courses.
• Submit required program reports to the Director promptly.
• Maintain student records including attendance, grades, and skills checklists.
• Teach lectures and supervise clinical rotations, including evenings/weekends as needed.
• Engage in professional development and CE hours to maintain licensure.
• Participate in assigned committees when possible.
• Stay current with nursing standards and safety regulations.

Job description

We are looking for a Full-time Vocational Nursing Instructor to join our team

• Please note this position would be visiting clinical sites
• Make continuous efforts to improve quality of instruction by reviewing and utilizing different and innovative methodologies / techniques in teaching
• Demonstrate or willing to acquire skills for utilizing online activities as enhancers to course content/material during interactive teaching and learning
• Assist with reviewing and revising of syllabus for specific course within the program and instructional guidelines
• Submit required program reports and forms to Director of the program in a timely manner
• Keep current with new technologies and safety regulations
• Maintains student records of attendance, grades, and skills check-off forms and assist with program data collection that meet set due dates and deadlines
• Assists with updating and maintaining student files as relates to clinical requirements, immunizations and educational requirements
• Teach courses at a variety of times and locations in responds to program needs
• Teaches both lecture content and clinical rotations (clinical rotations can be days, and/or evenings, on week days and/or weekends)
• Participate in professional development; maintain CE hours to ensure renewed licensure, takes responsibility for staying current with college updates
• Actively participates in committees as assigned, based on availability, taking into consideration teaching responsibilities as priority

Pay range: $104-115K/year

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse with current CA licensure
• Graduate of an approved School of Nursing; Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor Science in Nursing or credentials as required by state regulations
• Able to meet the faculty requirements set by the Board of Vocational Nursing
• 3 years of Nursing experience with BSN or 6 years of Nursing experience with Associates
• Experience which demonstrates: Current knowledge of nursing practice; ability to mentor students in classroom, lab and clinical settings; ability to work independently without close supervision; broad knowledge of nursing sciences; successful handling of day to day operations in the nursing lab; proficient, strong communications skills verbal and written; current knowledge/experience in clinical setting
• Current immunizations and Basic Life Support Certification
• Must obtain ATI, Assessment Technology Institute Certification within 60 days of hire (offered by Unitek)
