Our patient population is complex, often presenting with multi-system organ failure, which demands advanced assessment and clinical reasoning skills to manage their critical care needs effectively.
  • The MICU is a collaborative setting where we work together as a team—environmental services, licensed nursing assistants (LNAs), registered nurses (RNs), unit clerks, respiratory therapists (RT), physical/occupational therapists (PT/OT), interns, residents, fellows, and attending physicians—all focused on achieving excellence in patient care.
  • MICU nurses are passionate about learning and teaching, making this an active learning environment where accountability and clinical reasoning skills are essential. Many of our nurses are Certified Critical Care Nurses (CCRN) or actively pursuing CCRN certification, and all nurses have the opportunity to progress through our Clinical Advancement and Recognition Program (CARP).
