Overview

We have a Level III Trauma Center, the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley. The network includes more than 30 ambulatory clinics featuring primary care, Express Clinics, and imaging and diagnostic services.

We are honored to serve the Brazos Valley and surrounding counties in delivering state-of-the-art cardiac care as an award-winning Joint Commission Primary Heart Attack Center! St. Joseph’s Progressive Care Unit is an intermediate level of care between general hospital floors and an intensive care unit (ICU), providing a step-down unit for patients transitioning from critical care.

PCU patients’ conditions require more frequent monitoring than general units but aren't unstable enough for ICU care.

Responsibilities

As a specialized healthcare professional, you will play a crucial role in providing evidence-based, high-quality cardiac care, improving patient outcomes. Our highly trained cardiac nurses care for a wide variety of cardiac conditions including heart attacks, heart failure, cardiac procedures, and heart arrhythmias.

  1. Caring for patients admitted to our heart and vascular unit
  2. Collaborating with cardiologists, EKG techs, echo techs, and others
  3. Monitoring and interpretation of patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms and communicate any changes indicating a more serious condition
  4. You’ll be a trusted educator and resource for your patients’ recovery and prevention of reoccurring issues thanks to the care plans you develop and implement

We are offering a $20,000 sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for this position.

Qualifications

  1. Associate Degree in Nursing
  2. Minimum 1 year RN work in PCU, IMCU, and/or Telemetry
  3. RN license in good standing with the Texas Board of Nursing
  4. American Heart Association BLS, ACLS within 6 months

Pay Range

$28.50 - $43.46 /hour
