Job summary

Southern Illinois Healthcare is hiring a registered nurse to provide professional nursing care for SIH patients. A nursing degree (Associate to Master’s) and an Illinois RN license are required, along with CPR/BLS and infusion/chemotherapy certifications.

The role involves assessing needs, planning and delivering care with the care team, teaching patients, documenting thoroughly, and ensuring safety and quality across units. This is a full-time on-site position with tobacco-free campuses.

Qualifications

• Associate, Diploma, Bachelor’s degree or Master’s in Nursing.
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse license.
• Current CPR/BLS Card.
• ONS CTC-Infusion Center: 10328 (Fundamentals within first 6 months) and Chemotherapy Certificate Course (within 1 year, renewed every 2 years).
• SJ-Infusion: 40329 (Fundamentals within first 6 months, renewed every 2 years) or ONS Chemotherapy Certificate (renewed every 2 years).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs.
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families.
• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates an individual plan of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients.
• Demonstrate clinical judgement and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition.
• Complete, accurate and timely documentation in patient medical record.
• Support patient safety and quality of care through policies and procedures.
• Supervision and delegation of licensed practical nurse and/or unlicensed personnel.
• Serve as an advocate for the patient through collaboration with health professionals.
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency.

Compensation

• Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $31.25 To $49.06
