Job summary

City of Hope is seeking an infusion RN to deliver chemotherapy and infusion therapies across ages with supervision from care teams. The role emphasizes assessment, documentation, and direct guidance of patient care partners.

Required are 1 year RN hospital/clinical experience, Illinois license, BLS, and Oncology CE or ONCC certification; a strong motivation to support cancer care and research in a renowned center is essential.

Qualifications

• State of Illinois RN license.
• BLS certification on hire and maintained.
• Oncology certification through ONCC when eligible or 18 oncology CE every 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents infusion care for patients of all ages.
• Guides care delivered by patient care partners.
• Demonstrates knowledge of chemotherapeutic agents and meds.
• Assess and respond to normal/abnormal treatment responses and intervene as needed.

The successful candidate:

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents the care of medical and surgical patients requiring infusion therapy of all ages. Directly guides the care delivered by the patient care partners.
• Demonstrates knowledge and use of chemotherapeutic agents and medications
• Ability to assess and recognize normal/abnormal responses to treatments and institute appropriate interventions
• Demonstrates skills to assess and intervene in life-threatening situations

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

• 1 year of hospital or clinical setting as an RN
• Graduate of NLNAC or CCNE school of Nursing
• State of Illinois Registered Nurse License.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintained in position.
• Oncology Certification through ONCC when eligible or 6 oncology CE every year (18 oncology CE total every 3 years) for the Oncology Commission Cancer cycle.
• ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Course certified within 6-12 weeks of hire.
