Job summary

Warren Barr South Loop, a premier skilled nursing and post-acute care facility in Chicago, seeks an Infection Prevention Nurse to join the Clinical Department. Your role will educate staff and help develop and enforce infection control policies to protect residents.

You will identify and prevent outbreaks, collect and analyze infection data, and serve as a resource for employees, residents, and families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing or related field required.
• Unencumbered Illinois RN or LPN license required.
• CPR Certification required.
• Five years of RN or LPN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Educate staff on infection prevention and control.
• Assist with development, implementation and enforcement of infection control policies.
• Identify, control and prevent outbreaks of infection in the facility.
• Collect and analyze infection control data.
• Serve as an infection control resource for employees, residents, and families.

As an Infection Preventionist Nurse, you are at the heart of the Clinical Department. Your work will ensure our residents receive the high standard of care they have grown to expect by providing education to staff and assisting with the development, implementation and enforcement of infection control policies and procedures, identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infection in the facility, collecting and analyzing infection control data and acting as an infection control resource for employees, residents, and their family members. Our residents will depend on your knowledge, skills, and attention to detail to ensure they receive an unparalleled standard of care.

To be eligible for consideration applicants should have:

• As a minimum, a bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing or related field;
• An unencumbered State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN);
• C.P.R. Certification;
• Five (5) years of experience as a RN or LPN preferred.
• One (1) year of experience in an Infection Prevention position is required.
