Job summary

St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT is seeking a registered nurse to provide direct care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols. You will coordinate patient care across disciplines, monitor patient status, and support discharge planning within a collaborative team.

The role requires an accredited nursing education, CT RN licensure, and BLS certification. Acute care experience is highly valued and you will work day/night shifts with rotating weekends/holidays.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Associate degree required; BSN preferred.
• Acute care experience highly preferred.
• Current Connecticut RN license.
• BLS certification by the American Heart Association.
• Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Must be able to commute to Bridgeport, CT.

Responsibilities

• Implements and monitors patient care plans.
• Coordinates discharge planning with the healthcare team.
• Delegates care tasks to nursing staff as appropriate.
• Participates in daily interdisciplinary patient rounds.
• Adheres to ANA standards and ethics.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
