Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide high-quality nursing care with minimal supervision. You’ll assess patients, implement care plans, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic hospital setting.

Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education, and timely documentation. A Texas RN license and BLS are required, with advanced certifications as applicable to unit needs.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
• Active Texas State RN license is required.
• BLS within hire; ACLS/PALS as specified may be required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients and families and adapt care to changing health needs.
• Initiate care plans and follow established protocols; reassess regularly.
• Recognize deteriorating conditions and escalate using chain of command.
• Document all plans and care provided.
• Coordinate nursing care and delegate tasks to staff as appropriate.
• Administer medications accurately and safely.

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, provides nursing care for a group of patients assigned to the nurse based on matching the patients’ needs with the nurse’ competencies. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Assesses human responses and adaptation to actual or potential health problems of the patient, family and/or significant other
• Institutes approved medical protocols and initiates a plan for patient care based on the initial assessment; implements and continuously evaluates interventions; reassesses patient needs on an on-going basis
• Recognizes changing patient condition and utilizes unit resources, chain of command in a timely and appropriate manner
• Assimilates and prioritizes information sources to take immediate and decisive patient-focused action"
• Supports and maintains the physiologic stability of patients
• Responds with confidence and adapts to rapid changing patient conditions
• Documents all plans and care provided
• Identifies need for education of patient, family and/or significant other and provides education through individualized instruction, the use of written materials and/or other available resources

Graduate of accredited school of nursing.

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE

Possession of current Texas State License for Registered Nurse

Adult Ed

• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA ACLS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
• Should be completed before the end of the orientation period
• AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
• *Should be completed before the end of the orientation period. NOTE: PALS is not required in Adult ED at North Central Baptist Hospital.
• TNCC within 1 year of date of hire or transfer date into unit
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention must be obtained with 60 days of hire date or transfer to position
• ENPC is preferred

Pediatric Ed

• Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire.
• AHA PALS must be completed within 60 days of hire or transfer into role
• Should be completed before the end of the orientation period
