Job Description

This is an open and continuous posting for full-time and part-time positions on multiple shifts at Tewksbury Hospital, operated by the Department of Public Health (DPH). Tewksbury Hospital is a 370-bed Joint Commission-accredited facility providing comprehensive treatment, care, and comfort to adults with medical and/or mental illnesses.

Position Details:

• Work hours: 24 or 32 hours per week, on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift
• Shift times: 1st shift: 6:45 am - 3:15 pm; 2nd shift: 2:45 pm - 11:15 pm; 3rd shift: 11:00 pm - 7:00 am
• Requirements: Work every other weekend; mandatory overtime may be required after orientation

Salary Range:

• For 24 hours/week: $51,831.46 - $86,489.83 annually
• For 32 hours/week: $69,108.62 - $115,319.77 annually

General Summary of Duties

The RN II/Staff Nurse provides direct care to patients aged 20-100+ with chronic and acute medical illnesses, often with co-morbid mental health challenges. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, supervising staff, documenting care, and participating in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• At least one year of full-time (or equivalent) RN experience in a recognized hospital, clinic, or medical facility, or
• An equivalent combination of experience and substitutions below

Substitutions:

• A graduate degree in Nursing may substitute for the required experience, prorated based on completed requirements.

Special Requirements:

• Current and valid RN registration in Massachusetts
• Possession of a valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required depending on assignment
