Job summary

Harris Health is seeking a Nurse Clinician II (NCII) to provide safe, evidence-based nursing care in alignment with the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Harris Health standards.

The NCII independently manages routine patient issues, recognizes when to call for assistance, and collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize outcomes. Bilingual skills and Texas RN licensure are preferred. Ability to work weekends and on-call shifts is valued.

Qualifications

• RN license in Texas or eligibility, and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year RN experience or GN program completion, per unit requirements.
• Bilingual skills preferred to assist diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care within scope of NCII, following TX Nursing Practice Act and hospital standards.
• Independently manage common patient problems and seek help when needed.
• Document care, communicate with patients and families, and coordinate with care team.

Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.

Degrees

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

Licensure/Certification

• Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program

Other Certificates As Required By Unit/service.

Work Experience: One (1) year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program
