Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD is seeking a Registered Nurse with at least one year of experience to provide comprehensive patient care. The successful candidate will hold an Associate Degree in Nursing and current Maryland RN licensure, with Healthcare Provider CPR and specialty certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP) required upon hire.

The role includes assessment, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching, and quality improvement activities across multiple units.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• Current Maryland RN license.
• CPR certification at Healthcare Provider level; ACLS/PALS/NRP upon hire for specialty areas.

Responsibilities

• Compiles database and formulates nursing diagnoses.
• Uses physical assessment and interviewing techniques.
• Anticipates need for intervention by other disciplines.
• Determines priorities for patient care needs.
• Reassesses patient condition and response to treatment.
• Initiates and updates written nursing plans of care.
• Coordinates patient, family, and health team in discharge planning.
• Performs nursing skills independently and administers medications and IV therapy.
• Initiates emergency procedures and delegates duties.
• Documents and communicates patient status in medical records.
• Maintains patient care coordination and prioritizes daily assignments.
• Monitors care delivered by staff and coordinates activities with other disciplines.
• Develops and implements patient teaching and discharge planning records.
• May participate as RN3 and precept new staff as appropriate.
