Harris Health seeks a Nurse Clinician II (NCII) to provide nursing care within its Texas facilities, including Ben Taub and Lyndon B. Johnson Hospitals. The NCII uses standards and algorithms to manage common patient problems and works independently while recognizing when to seek support.

Minimum qualifications include BSN preferred, Texas RN license, Basic Life Support, and one year RN experience. Weekend, holidays, on-call shifts required; bilingual abilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred.
• Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas; Basic Life Support (BLS) certified.
• One year full-time RN experience; Nursing.
• Other certificates as required by unit/service.

Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education/Licensure/Specialized Training:
• Education:Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred
• Licensure/Certification: Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas; Basic Life Support from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program; Other certificates as required by unit/service.
• Work Experience: One (1) year full time RN experience - Nursing
• Management Experience: N/A.
