Job summary

Harris Health System seeks a Nurse Clinician II to independently manage patients in assigned areas, applying nursing standards and clinical algorithms. The NCII will recognize when to seek resources and provide competent generalist care consistent with the Texas Nursing Practice Act.

Required: RN licensed in Texas, BSN preferred or Diploma in Nursing; BLS certification; 1 year RN experience or GN program completion; bilingual skills preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing
• Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support from an AHA or Red Cross approved program
• Other certificates as required by unit/service
• One year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program
• Bilingual skills preferred
• Strong verbal and written communication for public contact

Job Summary

The Nurse Clinician II (NCII) has knowledge and skills necessary to meet standards for professional practice specified in Texas Nursing Practice Act and by HCHD Nursing Service. The practice patterns of competent generalists are characterized by the application of standards, principles, and algorithms to clinical situations. The NCII independently and safely manages patients with problems common to patients in his/her assigned clinical area; recognizes when he/she needs assistance and seeks appropriate resources.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
• Diploma in Nursing; Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing

• Registered Nurse; Licensed to practice nursing in the State of Texas
• Basic Life Support from an American Heart Association (AHA) or Red Cross approved program
• Other certificates as required by unit/service.

• One (1) year full time RN experience or completion of GN Program

• Bilingual Skills Preferred
