Job summary

HCA Florida Lake Monroe Hospital is seeking an ICU Step Down RN to join our team. You will provide high‑quality care for patients requiring close monitoring, using autonomous clinical judgment and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

The ideal candidate will have a Florida RN license (or compact multistate license with relocation plan), 1+ year of acute care experience, and preferred BSN/ASN. Certifications (NIH Stroke Scale, BCLS, ACLS) must be obtained within specified timelines.

Qualifications

• Florida RN license is required for employment.
• 1+ years of RN experience in an acute care environment preferred.
• Registered Nurse Diploma, Associate Degree or BSN is preferred.
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start.
• ACLS Provider card within 6 months; BCLS Instructor within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation.
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Use clinical judgment to safely deliver patient care.
• Monitor critical vital signs and intervene when needed.
• Educate patients and families about medications, procedures and treatments.

Job Summary and Qualifications

We are seeking a dynamic ICU Step Down RN to join our team. We need a compassionate and reliable RN to provide care for patients that need close monitoring and frequent assessments. In this role you will be required to make clinical assessments of situations and manage treatment autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient’s health or situation
• Advocate for patients as part of the interdisciplinary team
• Use clinical judgment to manage delivery of patient care safely and effectively
• Monitor critical vital signs enabling intervention of life threatening situations
• Educate patients regarding their medications, procedures and treatments, providing patients and their families with support throughout their stay.

Job Requirements

• Florida RN license and/or approved multistate RN license required. Compact license holders have 60 days to obtain the Florida license after relocation.
• 1+ years of RN experience in an acute care environment preferred
• Registered Nurse Diploma, or Associate Degree, BSN is preferred
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 30 days of employment start
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of start
• American Heart Association ACLS Provider issued card required within 6 months of employment start date
